For a New Breath of Air
Breathing. I am always amazed at how good it feels. Sit back, relax, and take a deep breath. I’ve been focusing on my breathing more-so recently than I have in the past, and it has an instant effect on my state of mind. Much as petting a dog instantly soothes the troubled mind, focusing on a deep breath (for me) can calm the bombardment of anxieties that rush my psyche.
I’ve also found that taking a break from a physical location seeminly associated with anxieties (e.g. work cubicle/workstation) can break the cycle of being in one’s own head.
We may not be able to “soar aloft” like the Silver Surfer when needing a mental reset or rest from the fickle inconsistency of humanity, but there’s a true benefit of walking outside for a “new breath of air.”
